12:27 PM ET 02.01 | Boston Bruins enforcer Shawn Thornton will be out 7-10 days after his latest fight didn't exactly go as planned. Buffalo Sabres tough man John Scott gave Thornton a fairly serious beating that left the Bruins pugilist with a concussion and unable to return to the game. That Sabres had stated they were focused on being a tougher team against Boston and, at Thornton's expense, it seems they've proven that point.

I hate to complain, but these mid-day threads break up the momentum of the early morning threads.

Next time maybe Thornton will pick on somebody his own size. (or smaller)

Scott, isn't he the bruiser who was with Chicago?

The Canucks always wanted him on the ice so they could go around him like a "hoop around a barrell"... (manifested my inner Howie on that one)

I always wanted him to get ahold of Burrows or Lappierre....

I always thought the same of Boogaard...keep him on the ice as much as possible.

If you want to have a tough guy, that's fine...but you need one that can play the game as well!

I would of loved to see Scott fight Lucic...after last years running of Miller he needs his arse whooped badly.
