NHL names Craig Anderson, Patrick Marleau, Thomas Vanek 3 stars of month

03:13 PM ET 02.01 | The NHL announced its three stars of the month for January on Friday and Ottawa Senators goaltender Craig Anderson has earned top honors. Backstopping the Senators to a 5-0-1 record when he is in net, Anderson has also collected a .967 save percentage (best in NHL) and .99 goals against average (second best in league). The second star was awarded to San Jose Sharks forward Patrick Marleau, who opened the season with four-consecutive multi-goal games, tying a record pre-dating the modern NHL. Currently leading the league with nine goals and sitting in second in total points (14), Marleau is a reason why the Sharks currently have the most points in the NHL and have a perfect 7-0-0 record. The third star was given to Thomas Vanek, who is currently leading the NHL in total points (15).

Marleau is on a tear. Haven't watched any games but his highlight reel is fine, fine, fine. Always seems to be in the right place at the right time.
