07:47 AM ET 02.02 | Former USC quarterback Matt Barkley is already a pro -- he made media appearances in New Orleans on Friday on behalf of a pizza chain -- but he's also preparing for the April draft. Barkley, who had been rehabilitating his injured right shoulder in Alabama, told ESPN's Colin Cowherd during an interview that he had not decided whether he would throw at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis next month, but he would team with former Trojans receiver Robert Woods at USC's pro day workout on campus March 27. "I don't feel like I have to," Barkley said of throwing at the combine. "We'll see when that time gets closer. It'll probably be more of a game-day decision. . . . I don't feel like I have to necessarily prove anything." Barkley sounded as if he preferred the pro day setting. "It is a little more isolated with people you're familiar with as opposed to guys you just started throwing with two days before," he said.

It doesn't matter if he throws at the combine!!! IMO he won't go until late 1st round or early 2nd round. The NFL scouts already know what Matt can do, or not do!!!

This Barkley kid is really hard to figure out. Disaster of a senior year, but he considers himself elite.

"I may not throw at the Combine, I have nothing to prove ". Barkley has been fed nothing but bad advice since Lane Kiffin advised him to stay at USC for 1 more year, not for the sake of Matt Barkley, but for the sake of Lane Kiffin.

Barkley was fooled into thinking that he would not be drafted in the top 10 in 2012, but would be a shoe in as a the #1 overall in 2013. USC had a terrible year and Barkley's stock has dropped dramatically. He could still go in the 1st round but why would anyone touch him till he 2nd round unless they were absolutely desperate?

Barkley is a project that will not be even close to hitting the playing field till 2016.

This kid may have not had to prove anything to any coaches in order to be recruited into college. But if he thinks his stock will go up by avoiding the combine then he is sadly mistaken. If he has a Doctors excuse then maybe teams will overlook his absence. If all he is doing is trying to hide the fact that he can't throw to WR's he is not comfortable with then his stock will fall even further.

We saw how awesome he was against UCLA when he threw 10 INT's before his first completion, and spotted the ruins a 28 point lead before deciding to show up and eat turf, and not the kind Jodie Foster prefers.
