Super Bowl Sunday and the interns post a lame story about a one trick (I'll admit it's a pretty damn good trick) pony like Hester??? Maybe this site is running on auto-pilot.

As a Bears and Hester fan, I still can't see a huge market for Devin. His best years are behind him and he has yet to look like a serviceable WR in the NFL.

To be fair, his still very good on returns. I can remember a handful of punters/kickers who seemed totally rattled kicking to Devin.

Lovie and the Bears tried converting Hester into a wide-out long before the league changed the kickoff rules. I always looked at The Devin Hester Experiment as Jerry Angelo and the Bears front office being too "frugal" to bring in a top-tier WR. In 2008, they incentivized a contract extension with escalators that were WR-based; it limited his return work substantially. Eventually he lost his return duties to Danieal Manning. It was 2010 before he got his return duties back. I never thought he was cut out to be a WR to begin with; he was special teams beast for a few seasons, and they should have just let him do what he did best.

Not a lot of market for return men over 30. He was the best ever for a long time, but if he loses just half a step, he's not the threat he used to be. And he will never be a reliable receiver.
