12:10 PM ET 02.03 | According to Orangebloods.com publisher Geof Ketchum, Arlington Heights defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson, the No. 33 ranked player in the nation, has decommitted from Texas. Robinson reportedly informed Texas coaches during an in-home visit that he would no longer be honoring his commitment and would instead be signing with Alabama on National Signing Day. Robinson had been committed to the Longhorns since last February and made an official visit to Austin last weekend. But the trip to Tuscaloosa two weeks ago seemed to have won over the five-star recruit.

Well, I would rather play for national championships than for 3rd in the Big 12 too.

Great news to hear. This coupled with Eddie Vanderdoes having an awesome time at Alabama this weekend and Reuben Foster getting into an argument and leaving auburn during his official visit... well, it might not get any better....

I don't think Alabama has enough scholarships to give out to 5 star recruits that want to go there. But the story here should be that the kid committed to Texas in the first place. After the past few seasons, you need to check for serious head injuries if you're a 4 star recruit or higher committing to Mack "I know I never won the big one, unless big is in reference to Big-12" Brown.

Alabama comes into OU's recruiting territory and steals a player from UTx, less than 5 miles from the TCU campus. Strange world.

Ouch. That one stings a bit. Thought he was pretty solidly locked in to Austin.

Not really. We have won 3 out of last 4 BCS CGs. That carries a lot of weight.

I have heard the Texas coaches made him a little annoyed and there is no chance to get back in it.

Odds are pretty darn strong, that Vanderdoes ends up in Westwood. Don't be greedy.

Who in their right mind, with the state of affairs in Austin, would go to UT? Granted the gorgeous coeds there would be a heck of a reason and it's a fine school but their program is in complete disarray. BTW, UT, please keep Mack Brown as your coach!
