QB with an off night? Phil Simms

08:02 AM ET 02.04 | Among the quarterbacks starring Sunday, it was perhaps Phil Simms who struggled the most down the stretch of the game. [Simms] just seemed a bit addled with things getting worse as the game went along. There was confusion over a challenged call by 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh on the spot of the ball. First, it was a bad decision, then it was a good challenge. (It was a terrible challenge, actually.) Then there was more confusion over whether the Ravens should take a safety toward the end of the game. ... And then he glossed over what looked to be holding on Michael Crabtree on the 49ers' last play, saying, "late in the game, it's hard to throw a penalty." Even if the call, or non-call, was right, it needed a little more explanation than that.

Phil had a bad day, the truth of the matter is they Stink, Summerall and Madden were so much better, even the Monday Night Gang would have had a ball poking fun at the blackout!!

Phil Simms does that every week... He sucks at commentating, and that's it bro.

Speaking of Madden, they even threw Phil Simms on this years edition as a commentator.

He sucks on it, too.

They had a lot of dead time to fill. Why not move some cameras on the field and show the cheerleaders? The ladies put on an extra show for the fans in the stadium. You could see it going on behind Baby Daddy Marino.

Every game Phil anounces is a bad day for us fans!

B/c THAT would have been entertaining. Instead CBS took the oppertunity to blather on about what we had already seen and what could happen next over and over and over agian.

The best line during the outage was Jim Nance saying 'for those of you just tuning we had a power failure in the stadium' after the power had already been off at least 20 minutes. Who was tuning into the game for the first time at that point?????????

hey,.....phil called that ''safety'' play at the end,.....that won me $1200....!.....whoo-hoo !

Forget Simms, he's a **** every game he works. How awful was CBS? Talk about a corporate **** fest. At one point they had about 12 Pizza Hut logo's on the set. I like Byonce but that lip syncing crap with 65 dancers on stage is absolutely atrocious. Get Zeppelin, they're touring.... or any band that will actually play for people dropping $2500 a ticket.

Give him a break. He's showing the early signs of dementia from too many sacks.
