Clippers are after Celtics' Garnett

08:06 AM ET 02.04 | Would KG accept a cross-country move? Multiple sources tell Sporting News the Los Angeles Clippers are making a push to acquire center Kevin Garnett from the Boston Celtics. Team officials have been talking ahead of Sunday's game in Boston. Interest in Garnett is seen as proof the Clippers believe they can be a championship contender in the NBA's Western Conference. Questions remain about whether the Celtics are ready to make a major step in rebuilding the franchise. Garnett has a no-trade clause in his contract, and would have to agree to waive it in order to make a deal happen. Things have not been going well for the Clippers, but for that at least there is a handy excuse -- the team has been knocked around by injuries.

Never going to happen.

Imagine this conversation:

Kg: Rajon, good luck with the recovery of your ACL injury. I'm going to the Clippers, to play with Cp3, you know him right? Guess what, you're getting Bledsoe and Butler in return. You guys wanted to play small anyways, right?

Celtics need a PF like Millsap or Jefferson. They won't trade away KG.

KG will never abandon Rondo.

KG has a no trade clause. Boston will not deal for a SF and a PG. KG would not approve of this or if does would be a hipocrit after he critized Ray Allen when Ainge was clearly trying to move Allen multiple times last year.

exactly-why would they wat a 30+year old butler and why would they want bledsoe when they have a stable full of small guards?

Exactly trade doesn't make sense. They probably need another team invovled. ATL/Phoenix/ Utah comes to mind

makes sense for both teams. Blodsoe is a good young athletic player that the celtics need. Butler has 1 year left on his contract which is a good trading chip next year or for cap relief. Either player can be moved later on or gives the Celtics flexibilty in moving Lee, terry, Green or whoever in a package for a big guy. Else. As a Celtics fan i hate to see KG leave but he deserves to go out with a winner. Clippers could use a low post Vet like KG in the half court offense and to teach Blake And jordan how to play with intensity every game.
