03:27 PM ET 02.04 | Defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky will finally be reporting to the New York Islanders. After attempting to void his trade to the team during the offseason and threatening to play the remainder of the year in Russia's Kontinental Hockey League, Visnovsky is expected to join the team on Wednesday. As of Monday, it remains unclear when he will play in his first game. Despite Visnovksy's representation consistently stating that the defender is excited to play for the Islanders, his actions have not expressed that same desire. After failed attempts to avoid playing for the club, Visnovsky needed to take care of a family issue, which apparently will be resolved this week. He is entering the final year of a five-year contract this season and will be an unrestricted free agent at season's end.
