04:35 PM ET 02.04 | Dwight Howard ruled out shoulder surgery, but he's also been ruling himself out of playing with an aggravated shoulder injury. The Los Angeles Lakers' big man has missed the past two games after re-injuring a torn labrum, and now it's a matter of if he can fight through the pain. Teammate Kobe Bryant, who himself has suffered shoulder injuries, has been pushing for Howard to figure out if he can play through the pain. Howard has gone through a number of treatments, including electronic and platelet-rich plasma therapy. But Bryant hopes that Howard determines what's best for the Lakers moving forward. And soon. "That's an evaluation he???s going to have to make with the training staff," Bryant said. "If it's an injury like a stinger but it won't get worse, play through it. If the pain is going to be there for a day or two, play through it. If it's going to threaten your career or threaten your season, chill out. That's a decision he has to make."

It's hard to compare any player when comes to injuries with Bryant. He just have a high threshold to endure pain.

Did Kobe really say "what's best for the Lakers moving forward"
Kobe's departure is what is best for the Lakers. From a financial stand point, defensive stand point and offensive stand point too.
It is hilarious to listen to him speak about what's best for the Lakers when early in the year he had no problem jacking up 80 attempts per game like he was playing every game in Toronto.
