04:38 PM ET 02.04 | Dwyane Wade, the captain of the East for the NBA All-Star game, is using his clout to push fellow Miami Heat teammate LeBron James into a bigger role for the 2013 NBA All-Star weekend. Namely, Wade has attempted to get James to agree on competing in the slam dunk contest, something James has never done and always opposed doing. Wade also told James to put his name in the hat for the three-point contest considering James' success at the three-point stripe this season. He is averaging 40 percent shooting beyond the arc. But it was two swings and two misses for Wade, according to ESPN. "I told him I'd throw him a lob and we'll win," Wade told ESPN of the dunk contest. "He turned me down; I think he got nervous."

QUOTE(#1):

In game dunks and contest dunks are two different things. I don;t think he is scared of the limelight so maybe he is lacking in creativity?

Really? All he has to do is compete and it's an auto-win.

You don't think the top boss will let Lebron lose the contest? And talking about creativity, it's has become so boring with the KIA endorsement. Griffin barely jumping over a car, ZzzzZZzzzzz.

Lebron should pass on the dunk contest. He missed this part of his NBA career, it is for the 1-3 year players in their rookie contract. If he gets hurt doing this crap, he will look like a big dummy.

He is a team player. The dunk contest is for individual ball hogs like Kobe, Dominic and MJ.

Lebron is above all that at this point in his career.

It took James 8 years to finally win the Finals. Lebron could take the same amount of time to win the Dunk Contest.
