04:40 PM ET 02.04 | Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak isn't going to panic just yet. With Los Angeles two spots back and three and a half games out of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference, he's going to roll with the moves he made during the offseason. Kupchak told Newsday that the team will go with what it has. While time is running out with 34 games remaining, Kupchak said he still believes in the team and head coach Mike D'Antoni. "We will not trade Dwight Howard," Kupchack told Newsday. "We have no intention of making a trade. It's unlikely that we'll make any trade with any of our principal players. To make another change at this time of the year being behind the eight-ball like we are, I think that would just make it more difficult. The talent is there. We have to find our way."

If the Lakers front office really understand basketball they would know they can never win or compete for a title as long as Kobe is a Laker. Kobe is hogging all the money and the ball, while playing little to no defense. This combination of negatives is called team killing.
If the Lakers FO knows this, then they have 2 choices:
1. Cut Kobe, resign DH and bring in 2 players with the money they save from cutting Kobe.
or
2. Keep Kobe, lose DH (because if Kobe is there DH is walking this summer) and continue to lose. While the Kobe fans will love to see Kobe back in uniform, so will the rest of the NBA because as long as he is defending the perimeter. The elite teams are going to feast on the Lakers backcourt.

You don't want to trade him? Cool, then let him leave for nothing at the end of the year. Choice is yours.

You are right -- there is no way an NBA team could win a Championship with Kobe on the team.

I know I am right.
Lucking out and playing an injured Celtics team 4 years ago won't be the case going forward.
Talk about pathetic, the Lakers aren't even the best team in their own gym. The Clippers are.
If the Lakers even make the playoffs as the 8th seed they will get swept out in the 1st round.
Like I said before. I hope the Lakers continue to do my Spurs a favor and keep Kobe on the court. His defense looks like a practice drill cone when TP and others are blowing past him to the rim.

That's a lot of money to burn on two coaches not working for you anymore.

I don't think LA has a choice anymore. The NBA is close to the All-Star Break, you better use your time wisely to make sure Howard stays a Laker.
