04:42 PM ET 02.04 | The Boston Celtics took Ohio State's Jared Sullinger 21st overall in the 2012 NBA Draft after the former lottery-bound forward slipped down the draft board because of concerns over a back issue. The risk was realized the past week when it was announced Sullinger needed season-ending back surgery. But Sullinger's agent, David Falk, told the Boston Globe that the Celtics knew it could come to the surgery. Other teams did as well, though many saw the back surgery as something more serious than Falk believes it really is. "Some teams treated it like he was going to have a heart attack or something," Falk told the Boston Globe. "[The Celtics'] Brian McKeon is one of the most confident team doctors I've ever dealt with. There were so secrets, nobody was trying to hide any facts. There was a possibility that he could require surgery, but the recovery time is less than an ACL."

QUOTE(#1):

That's why Orlando took a different PF at #19. There were too many questions about Sullinger's health.

this wuz the very bases that most of us tried 2 get Russy 2 understand when he wuz running round here talkin bout Sully as 1 of the best rookies in the game...smh

I understand potential, but in this game there r so many variables that the potential that is there more times than not jus doesn't pan out.
