Are the Pacers shopping Granger?

04:43 PM ET 02.04 | Danny Granger, once the franchise face of the Indiana Pacers, could suddenly be a carrot to dangle in front of other NBA teams as the trade deadline approaches. The swingman hasn't played a game this season because of a knee injury, and in his place, the younger Paul George has grown into one of the NBA's most improved talents. That has the Pacers looking at options. While they would be OK in keeping Granger, who is 29 years old, they're trying to gauge his value on the market. Sam Amico of FOX Sports Ohio reports that the Houston Rockets could be one team interested in Granger.

His contract isn't that bad, 2 years (including this season) for 13 and 14 million.

It's going to be tough for him getting another big contract. He's expandable when he's 31 or he should get a Gerald Wallace type deal.

Yea not a good move for the Rockets in my mind, Chandler is a nice small forward who is young, athletic, and talented. Some guy said Cavs, that makes much more sense with the cap room and roster as well. Granger if healthy could also land in Memphis with Gay's departure to Toronto over with.

I was thinking the same thing! The Cavs could package a couple short contract together which would give the Pacers room to deal. Something like Gee, Walton and Casspi? The number would work and the both Walton and Casspi only have a year left while Gee has 3.

Granger is a poor man's Rudy Gay. Gay is athletically more talented and an overall better play, although Granger is the better 3-point shooter. Not many teams were jumping at the possibility of acquiring Gay, so I would assume that the market for Granger is even slimmer. With that being said, I would not consider the Cavs as contenders for Granger because the Cavs are more concerned about clearing up cap-space (presumably for LeBron, though don't wait for them to admit it). I would bank on Phoenix creating a package and getting Granger. The Suns did show interest in Gay, and the asking price for Granger would be ever smaller. The Pacers are better off without Granger, and why not boltster your bench by trading him.

He was always over-inflated and overrated to begin with. He was never a franchise player and with Paul George blowing up the way he has, that has just made Granger the more expendable. Indy would be wize to unload him, preferable for a good SG. Perhaps OKC will want to part w/ Kevin Martin in order to get a solid 6th man option for Durant and Westbrook?
