Frank Gore: Ravens still aren't as good as us

07:38 PM ET 02.04 | San Francisco 49ers fans and players alike are dealing with the aftermath of losing one of the biggest games of their lives today. But while the Ravens did win the Super Bow, the 49ers are claiming they got some help from the guys in stripes toward the end of the game. Colin Kaepernick and Michael Crabtree aren't blaming the refs for the loss on Sunday, but running back Frank Gore is taking a different angle, saying while Baltimore won the game, they weren't the better team. Harbaugh made the wrong decision in putting James in over Gore, but it says a lot about who Gore is that he's standing up for his coach rather than throwing him under the bus. Plus, Gore's got some years left and there's a pretty good chance we'll see this Niners team making another serious Super Bowl run again next season. Besides, what is Gore really supposed to say other than he thought his team was truly the better team?

You don't get a ring for thinking you're better!

Dear Frank,

Yesterday the Ravens were the better team, keep focus on the carrot again for next season.

Jeez the 9ers are really displaying what a class group of guys they are.

I bet there's a mashed potato fight at the Harbaughs if brother John shows up for Thanksgiving dinner wearing the ring!!!!!

I think the blowout was on if the power hadn't gone out and killed the Raven's momentum

'Frank Gore is taking a different angle, saying while Baltimore won the game, they weren't the better team.'

Uh, yeah, they are, Frank.

Tom Landry said the same thing after "the catch" in 1982. Ironically, The 49ers won that game. Not so ironically, that was a conference championship game (not an SB) and Landry was already an icon, while Gore is a good but not great RB. He's the Curt Warner of his generation.

One team has the ring and the other does not. Which side does Gore play for?

February 5, 2013  05:12 AM ET

Gore could be right BUT on Sunday the Ravens were better.

The final score and San Fran's piss-poor first half effort seem to suggest otherwise.

Kurt Warner was great as QB. You should just stop commenting now as you lose credibility by saying stuff like that...learn about the game and then look at what Warner did and how he did it and for how long then tell me he was not great. Kurt Warner was the league MVP twice, SB MVP once, and went to 2 other SB's (lost to Brady by a late field goal which the defense gave up and one to Roethlisberger on a crazy non-catch in the corner of endzone which the defense gave up) with 2 different teams where he very easily could have had 2 more SB wins and he likely would have been MVP based on his performance. All of this on HIS arm.

The Niners lost because they had no defense or special teams!!!!!!!!!
