Jim Harbaugh rips refs for non-call in Super Bowl

07:39 PM ET 02.04 | The San Francisco 49ers are still reeling from losing the biggest game of their lives, but many of their fans and players are under the assumption that they were robbed. On the final offensive play of the game for the 49ers, the officials on the field failed to call what looked to be a pretty obvious defensive pass interference call or at the very least a defensive holding penalty in the end zone. Niners head coach Jim Harbaugh was visibly angry at the call and is still protesting what he felt should have been a penalty that could have changed the game. Is there really any other way we saw Jim Harbaugh handling a Super Bowl loss other than to blame the referees? He's got merit, since the non-call was unbelievably questionable, but at some point you just have to suck it up and move on. But in true Harbaugh fashion, he claimed to merely be making an observation and not a critique.

All the complaining in the world isn't going to change the results, guess the players just need to get it off their chest and move on......

QUOTE(#2):

the last four plays for the 9ers were terrible calls all 4 of them. they deserved to lose. fast elusive running qb with frank Gore. terrible calls a disgrace.

The Ravens earned the win, and yes the play calling was a wasted opportunity. They should have used what got them there a few times and had Kaps or Gore run it.

Jim, your team lost not because of one possible missed call, but because your team sucked in the first half. The Ravens made more big plays than your team and that is why they won.

Cry baby...

Not to mention that your play calling on those last 4 downs was terrible

It is somewhat fitting that this season ends on a refree controversy.

Agree, have a good cry and wonder what happened the first half including the 2nd half kickoff, to make this 4th down play so important. Lights out, Jim :)

True dat.

When you fall behind by 22 points, the refs are the least of your problems.

well he was right Smith had crabtree's uniform shirt with a closed fist grab the play before that he took a shot to the head on the safety a ravens player had his arms completely wrapped around his waist clear as day 3 calls that could have changed the game but were not called Refs are just plain blind ? someone paid the Ref's money for them to be blind those plays or the least one makes you think either the game was fixed ? something needs to be done when the penalties that are not called and PRETTY DAM OBVIOUS should be challeged 1 or 2 per game 1 per half each team ? either way no penalty called or one called that is BS this cost a historic comeback that ball would have been caught with ought a doubt if he was not held up 3 calls in last 4 minutes that would have changed the game VERY SAD TO SEE A TEAM LOOSE THAT WAY WHAN THE PLAYER WAS JUST PLAN MUGGED AND I HATE BOTH TEAMS

STILL WAS NOT AS BAD WHEN THE REF'S HANDED THE STEELERS THE SUPER BOWL OVER THE SEAHAWKS A FEW YEARS BACK THAT WAS THE WORST GAME I EVER SEEN OFFICIATED SEAHAWKS SHOULD HAVE WON THAT GAME IN A BLOW OUT I FOR ONE STILL BELIEVE THAT WHOLE OFFICIALATING TEAM WAS PAID SOME BIG MONEY TO THROW THAT GAME

ALL YOU RAVENS FANS STAND UP BE HONEST STOP BEING SO DAM IGNORANT AND ADMIT THOSE WERE BLOWN NON CALLS JUST LIKE YOUR TEAM YOU ARE A FAN OF DOES NOT HAVE A MURDERING RAT ON YOUR TEAM

February 4, 2013  10:03 PM ET

Bring Back The Replacement Refs!!!! Who was it that said, I'm a Bad Loser?
