03:40 PM ET 02.05 | The NBA Players' Association is reportedly interested in retaining the services of NHL Players' Association executive director Donald Fehr. Fehr, who gained his notoriety in sports labor relations while working with, and eventually leading, the MLB Players' Association, successfully negotiated on behalf of the NHLPA on new collective bargaining agreement with the NHL. While Fehr received criticism at times, it appears the NBAPA was impressed enough with his performance to consider him as a candidate to replace Billy Hunter who is believed to be on his way out. Fehr and the NHLPA have a mutual opt-out, which allows either side to terminate his contract with 60 days of notice.

I hear Bettman and Daly are providing references to the NBAPA in hopes they hire him.

This brings up a point. It's obvious Fehr was not going to stay on with the NHLPA for long. So, who do they get to replace him? That will be interesting to see who they end up with.

Ray Lewis? He's got the the time now. Seriously, I have no idea. Maybe Fehr's brother Steve? He seemed pretty involved during the whole lockout.

Given the landscape in pro sports labour contracts, Fehr can just prostitute himself, going from one lock-out to the other. Maybe Gary can go on the other side and they could do a travelling show.

Pretty much; he could go from league to league....by then the first league will be up for contract negotiations and he could start the process all over again.
