07:56 PM ET 02.05 | The Philadelphia 76ers will be without versatile forward Thaddeus Young after he strained his hamstring. Expected to miss about three weeks of play, Young injured himself Monday night in a 78-61 victory against the Orlando Magic. Young is averaging 14.9 points and 7.4 rebounds this season for head coach Doug Collins, and the injury puts the 76ers in a tough position. They are chasing the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and are three games back of eighth-place Boston. "Pretty much when I first did it, it felt like a rubber band kind of like snapping a little bit and going back in place," Young told Philly.com Tuesday. "Like the doctor said, three weeks hopefully I will be back."

Makes an undersized and outmatched team even more undersized and outmatched. Thad was not that great a player, anyways. He had the size and athleticism to be a SF, but he does not have the handle nor the shooting range to play well enough in that position. He's not that great of a PF either as he is often outmatched by his opponents. More than likely Lavoy Allen will take his palace--although it really does not matter. Philly is certainly not making the playoffs.
