07:58 AM ET 02.06 | With depth seemingly always an issue in Detroit's offensive backfield, the Lions will be scouring the draft for help at running back. [But] Hall-of-Famer Barry Sanders said he's a fan of one back already in town -- Mikel Leshoure. "He's young, he's physical, I thought he showed a lot of promise," Sanders said Saturday at the NFL Honors awards show. "I don't know what their sort of plan is for him as far as the future, how much more responsibility they see. But I think for a young running back, I certainly see a big role that he's going to play in the offense and maybe even use him more in the passing game." A second-round pick out of Illinois in 2011, Leshoure led the Lions with 798 yards rushing and nine touchdowns last year.

Why not just write in the headline that it's Barry Sanders? Who else would it be? Alex Karras?

Leshoure is good but needs to hold on with the ball. He was killing me in my fantasy with all the fumbles!

Ahh, that's right. Forgot. Too bad he blew his knee out on the glorious turf in Minnesota. He was pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Yawn. The Lion sleeps tonight.

Oh! Thank heaven! No "Apples" on this thread! :-)

What is Sanders basing these comments on? Pointless.

I remember watching him play one Thanksgiving YEARS ago... Simms gave a would be tackler a vicious drop kick when he tried to tackle him. LOL!

I thought Iggy Pop, but it said "Lions", not "Detroit".
