The most surprising recruiting success

08:13 AM ET 02.06 | What a difference a year makes for Ole Miss. Hands down the biggest surprise team of recruiting season has to be Ole Miss. The Rebels currently ranked No. 11 in Rivals recruiting rankings and could finish with the nation's top class if it nails down commitments from the nation's top recruit Robert Nkemdiche and Chris Jones, the nation's No. 2-ranked defensive end and the top prospect in the state of Mississippi. Both players will announce their decision on Wednesday. What a turnaround for Ole Miss, which had the No. 40 class a year ago and has never finished with a class better than No. 15 (2006). It's not the Rebels' 7-6 record -- they've had more wins than that three other times since recruiting rankings began in 2002 -- it's coach Hugh Freeze.

I was out in the yard with my 9 year old son yesterday throwing the football. Coach Freeze drove by and saw us. Today I woke up and there was a brown paper bag full of $20 bills next to my bed. The note said see you in the fall. Not sure what to do now.

You know all kidding aside Ole Miss could be a sleeping giant of a program. They do have a good fan base. Great game day tradition and very nice coeds. They play in the SEC and I imagine have pretty good facitlites. A good recruiter which Freeze seems to be could turn that program into a monster.

So far, I've read that DE Nkemdiche and OL Tunsil have sent their LOIs to Ol' Miss.

I guess we'll see just how good a coach Freeze really is.

After AD Boone resigned, who hired Nutt, who set the program back 10years, and now things are looking up with the hiring of Freeze as head football coach. We will not be on the bottom of the division anymore and will start playing more national televise games like Bama does now.
