08:14 AM ET 02.06 | The new coaching staff in Madison may have its new dual-threat quarterback in Arizona Western College transfer Tanner McEvoy. McEvoy, 6-foot-6, 215 pounds, gave an oral commitment to the Badgers on Monday, selecting them over Florida, Oregon and West Virginia. ... UW has a glut of quarterbacks, including sixth-year senior Curt Phillips, who started the final five games last season; sophomore Joel Stave, who made six starts in the middle of the season before sustaining a broken left collarbone; and promising redshirt freshman Bart Houston. The other scholarship quarterbacks are seniors [Danny O'Brien] and Jon Budmayr, who is attempting a comeback after multiple injuries forced him to sit out the last two seasons.
