12:35 PM ET 02.06 | Candlestick Park is ready for its final season. The iconic stadium, which has undergone a few name changes since it opened in 1960, is set to implode after the San Francisco 49ers' 2013 season, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. It will take all of 30 seconds to see Candlestick go from a working NFL stadium to a pile of dust. The demolition may take place within weeks after the 49ers play their last game next season.

Here we go again: *Another* stadium, built at *Taxpayers, i.e. US* expense, and *then* we get charged an arm and a leg just to park and see the game. This sucks. Just renovate the stadium dudes...

Welcome to corporate America, where the rich get stuff free so they can stay rich, and the working class get to pay for it for the right to pay more to make them richer.
What's with this idea that every stadium is old and dilapidated just cause its 50 years or more since it was built?? I remember Art Model was offered a new stadium when they were pulling public funding for the new Jacobs Field and Gund Arena in Cleveland. He turned it down then complained 2 years later about the stadium (part of his ten year plan to move Browns to Baltimore). So Cleveland has to build a new stadium because Municipal Stadium was apparently falling apart?? Yet it took them more than twice as long, than planned, to tear it down cause it was so sturdy. Just NFL BS!!
Now I am not sure of the state of Candlestick? Does it really need to be torn down, or is it just another NFL owners want more PSL license stadiums built?

The 'Stick is just fine as a stadium. It's parking lot is in very poor condition and it isn't close to many major freeways. It was initially a single team stadium that expanded to include the Niners, so there's that too.
But young jed york wanted a new stadium and we had to put up with terrible teams until he got his stadium. It was only after that he decided to focus on the team.
Now we lost our team and a stadium that housed 5 Super Bowl champions. Just so young jed could sell some luxury boxes.
