Spurs prepare for rodeo trip

06:26 PM ET 02.06 | The San Antonio Spurs open a nine-game road trip Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves. It's the beginning of an annual leave from their home arena, the AT&T Center, that's due to the Stock Show and Rodeo. Though the Spurs will be without injured players Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili, who are on the trip but won't play at Minnesota, the rodeo road trip has often defined San Antonio's success. Since beginning the road trip in 2003, the Spurs have played a full 82-game season on it and have a 58-24 record over that span. It's viewed as the starting point for the team's often-successful playoff runs. "That's usually where we jell and become a team," All-Star point guard Tony Parker told the San Antonio Express-News.
