08:07 AM ET 02.07 | Tayshaun Prince, Detroit's vocal leader of the locker room in recent years, is gone. Surprisingly, Jason Maxiell said he's intent on filling the void, having been around when Ben Wallace, Rasheed Wallace and Antonio McDyess were around. ... But most players believe leadership can come from any source, as long as the voice is consistent. "Do you bring it every single day?," asked [Pistons coach Lawrence Frank] rhetorically. "When things aren't going well for you are you the same guy? That's why leadership is so damn hard." "There's an opening, a vacuum and we'll see who sucks up that space." Frank said he expects new Piston Jose Calderon to be that guy, or at least one of them. Monroe said Brandon Knight could also move forward.

If your best player is not one of your leaders then you have a serious problem. It will have to be Knight or Monroe.
