08:11 AM ET 02.07 | Interested suitors keep swinging for the Marlins and missing, as owner Jeffrey Loria pitches a shutout of sorts. [Loria], in recent months, has rejected overtures from a half dozen people who expressed interest in buying the Marlins, including one of South Florida's most famous residents: Former Florida governor Jeb Bush. According to a source, Bush made a "large offer" to buy the team this offseason, but Loria told him he's not selling. ... [A] friend of Loria insists that barring a health problem or change of heart, he does not want to sell because he loves owning a team. Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, who has explored buying a baseball team, e-mailed that he hasn't inquired about the Marlins and doesn't plan to.

Da Bushwhacker and his Brother Neil!!!

This is nice of him actually. Loria would rather run them into the ground himself. They already hate him down there. He doesn't want anyone to hate somebody new.

Why would he sell now? As much as I'd love to see this guy end up in Biscayne Bay, he's making more money than ever. Of course Cuban, Bush et al want in.

He must also love losing, being thought a complete fool, and being hated in his community. Hope that works out for him.

Why not, his brother made a lot of money buying a team with other peoples money, then using eminent domain to steal some land and have the public build him a new stadium then selling for a huge profit.

wiseup: so much for the history lesson. Loria either has to make an honest effort to rebuild Marlins or get out .Sell your team to highest bidder, take the money and run ,do not walk.
