08:15 AM ET 02.07 | With some heat turning up on him, Francisco Cervelli chose the silent treatment in Florida. [Cervelli] declined to comment further on his alleged ties to performance enhancing drugs after working out at the Yankees minor league complex [Wednesday]. Cervelli's name appeared in records obtained by Yahoo from Biogenesis, a closed anti-aging clinic in Miami that Major League Baseball is investigating for possibly selling PEDs to numerous players, including Alex Rodriguez. ... Cervelli said on Twitter Tuesday night he had only dealt with the clinic and Bosch, after his 2011 foot surgery. The catcher said he didn't purchase any prohibited substances. He is expected to compete for the starting catcher's job this season.

PEDs don't always make the journey man turn into a beast. In fact, usually they make that border line player just good enough that he might get the last spot on a roster. Cervelli appears to fall into that category if he is in fact using PEDs.

And, don't know if you have seen any pictures of this guy but I have and he looks built. Baseballreference.com ays he is 6'1" and a tad over 200 and I would suggest little of that is fat.

Cervelli is nothing more than collateral damage. Wrong place at the wrong time.

If that's the case, the Yankees should just release him now. If he's been busted and can't cheat anymore, it would seem he useless to them now.
