03:11 PM ET 02.07 | The Philadelphia Eagles will hire former Cleveland Browns linebackers coach Billy Davis as their new defensive coordinator, according to Geoff Mosher of CSNPhilly. Davis has served as a defensive coordinator twice before, with the 49ers from 2005-06 and the Cardinals from 2009-10. In both of his stints as a coordinator, Davis has run a 3-4 defense, which it appears the Eagles will transition to under new head coach Chip Kelly. Bleeding Green Nation has more on the hiring and notes that Davis has been a NFL assistant since 1992 and served under 3-4 masterminds such as Wade Phillips, Dom Capers and Mike Nolan.
