03:36 PM ET 02.07 | Before the season, Joe Flacco said he was an elite quarterback. Now, after leading the Baltimore Ravens to a Super Bowl victory, wide receiver Anquan Boldin believes Flacco has backed up that statement. In an interview on WNST Baltimore, Boldin said, "I think now his critics can't be found."

Yeah, he did.

Word.

The most interesting thing about Flacco is he had the same face when he made that "silly" elite statement, as he had after winning SB MVP.

February 7, 2013  05:55 PM ET

Yes he did!!

February 7, 2013  06:08 PM ET

Not much in the humility department, but he did play well.

February 7, 2013  06:14 PM ET

And even though he played a helluva game, true elite QB's don't call themselves elite, others do!

That's because truly elite quarterbacks from the past aren't/weren't asked aren't asked. Did you ever hear about Montana or Bradshaw being asked the questions? It's only recently in the day and age of the 24-hr news cycle that anyone asks.

I don't honestly recall Brady, Peyton or Rogers calling themselves elite QB's

No, but he backed his play, and I'm glad Boldin got his ring after coming so close with the Cards.

Because they were never asked. Flacco was. You proved my first post, thanks!

Maybe they weren't Steeler. Not sure why given their status. I'm glad Flacco backed it up though.

February 7, 2013  07:39 PM ET

I'm sure there are still plenty of critics... Just like there are for Eli, Peyton, Tom and Aaron.

Flacco doesn't have a damn thing to prove.

One day, Flacco is just going to lose it about something, and it will be a tantrum for the ages
