Lubomir Visnovsky added to Islanders active roster

03:41 PM ET 02.07 | The New York Islanders have lifted the suspension on defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky on Thursday afternoon. Visnovsky had been suspended for failing to report to the team on Jan. 18. This finally concludes an extended cycle that revolved around Visnovsky seemingly wanting nothing to do with the Islanders. After attempting void the trade that brought him to New York because of a potential no-trade clause in his contract, Visnovsky signed in Russia's Kontinental Hockey League during the lockout. After the lockout, he voiced his desire to play the remainder of the year in Russia. After he was unable to do that, a family issue came up, which required him to stay overseas. Now, that all of this is complete and the suspension is lifted, he will be added to the team's active roster.

Funny that he asked to stay in the KHL, but because of disparaging comments he had previously made about Russia and because he is a non-Russian playing for a non-Russian KHL team, the league didn't decide to challenge the terms of the KHL-NHL agreement.

Anyone who's willing to associate himself with the most vile and murderous of sociopath is either just as deranged and evil or just plain stupid. Or .... maybe all three. He deserves nothing but heaps of scorn and the deepest contempt. Many of us paid dearly in blood to rid the world of that monster and yet here we have an idiot idolizing him?
