08:02 AM ET 02.08 | Even in his return, more questions followed Lakers center Dwight Howard. After missing the previous three games, he returned to the court Thursday night and had nine points and nine rebounds before fouling out of the Lakers' 116-95 loss to the Celtics. ... Asked if he felt pressured to return, Howard said: "No, I didn't." Howard said he had been targeting the Boston game to return if he could, even though teammate Kobe Bryant -- who played through a labrum tear in 2003 -- had been publicly noting the need for Howard to learn to manage his pain. Bryant said his statements were "really overblown. ... I didn't say anything that was groundbreaking." Bryant said he would've been more directly critical if he'd wanted to get through a stronger statement.

Of course Howard was pressured to return...come on Interns...pretty low for Kobe to go to the media instead of Howard to talk about injuries...I agree with Sir Charles on this one (I know, I am shocked also)...if a player says he is injured, you have to take his word for it...rushing back to play when not fully healthy is just taking precious time off your career.

Like I said in a previous post it is like a Marine (USMC) thing. Even in peacetime if you did not require Life-Flight then the fella's expect you to carry on. Kobe would make a great Marine! But DH has got to man up. That might entail him getting in Kobe's face and not playing a media-fueled ****-for-tat game. That means when the media asks he should tell them that he and KB24 had a PRIVATE discussion. If reporters press him then he can tell them to ask Kobe...
