08:03 AM ET 02.08 | Toronto may not be done reshaping its roster, as multiple reports suggest the Raptors and Bulls have been talking about a deal involving Carlos Boozer and Andrea Bargnani. [But] as one person with knowledge of the situation said, "There's nothing to it. Nothing's going on." However, another individual, who wasn't authorized to speak on behalf of either team, believes the proposed deal -- which would package Boozer and backup point guard Nate Robinson in exchange for Bargnani and former Bulls fan favorite John Lucas III -- is still on the table, though Toronto is hesitant to take on the remaining salary on Boozer's contract. The Raptors are "100 percent committed to moving Bargnani," added the source.

This feels like the Bulls making a move just to make a move. Not sure Bargnani is any kind of upgrade over Boozer and the right to amnesty him.

Because aging overpaid vets who can't defend are exactly what they need right now!

Exactly.
Boozer is older and slower.
Sure he is a banger but their are younger guys that are also.
I love the raps mindset to turn their roster from mediocre to playoff bound.
The Rudy G trade was brilliant.
However the raps should stay away froom Boozer.
They need to contact the hawks about Josh Smith, if a third team needs to be involved reach out to the jazz, it's not that hard.
If J Smooth is untouchable, how about Millsap?
I mean am sure the jazz don't wanna lose him for nothing...
Raps owners are committed to paying the luxury for a good playoff run roster....

I have to agree with you. Boozer is a bad trade with his salary. There are still other pieces that need to be filled with the Raptors.

Don't really see how this helps either squad. Bulls pride themselves on Defense and rebounding, and the Raps are trying to change their roster not add salary to it.

I doubt the the Raptors will trade Mago for Booz because although it may make them a legitimate threat to make the play off, Boozer's contract is simply too much to make a team that will make the playoffs once or twice this season. Boozer would be an excellent mentor for Jonas Valanciunas, however; but does it justify the Raptors to pay 30$ million over the next two years compared to someone who is four years younger and costs 10$ million less?
I can see Mago going to Utah for someone like Paul Milsap, or Denver for a Danilo Galanari or even JaVale McGee, but to the Bulls for Carlos Boozer? That's quite a stretch.

Agreed the Millsap deal would make sense or McGee.
Raps should pursue 3 guys for Andrea; Josh Smith/Millsap/McGee.

The Bulls are stupid if they make this deal.
What makes the Bulls good is their rebounding and defense....Bargnani does neither.
Granted, he can shoot the 3 and is 5m less per season than Booze but you take a post guy out to the 3pt line and you lose getting boards, not to mention you screw up cohesion.
They need to let Rose come back and get up to speed....Chicago is a force with him on the court.

Raptors need another team to get involved in a 3-way deal. They clearly need a PF. Boozer and Bargnani contracts come off at the same year 14/15 which is probably why their names were involved. Bargnani is a horrible fit for the Bulls unless they just want him to come off the bench and be a shooter.
Like others have said they need to try to get Josh Smith and Milsap who are either unhappy or playing behind stacked talent. I can't see many teams wanting Bargnani.

looking at it from the perspective of either team, i dont see how this deal makes sense for either team. Bargs absolutely does not fit the culture in chicago and Boozer just costs too much for the raps after the gay trade. Now if fields and his 6 million was thrown in maybe, but i dont see how that happens.
Ive wanted bargs gone no matter the cost, but wow boozer's contract is quite the cost. If the bulls for some inexplicable reason actually want this and it's the only option out there do the raps have to take this? they could also amnesty bargs if they want but that seems like a waste of an asset unless its facilitating something else

Taj has been waiting in the wings. When Boozer was out last week, Taj played like the defensive monster he can be be. This allows for more playing time for him, while shedding 5 mil a year. It's a good deal

Psssht...
You keep saying that then.
Chicago made a bad move with that Boozer deal...they are just praying that they find someone dumb enough to make the same decision they did in getting him.
15m a year for Booz is disgusting.

I told people on here Gibson minutes are being taken by Boozer. Gibson is the longterm cheaper replacement. Less scoring but better defense. Boozer is playing at an all time high during his stint with the bulls. So the time to trade Boozer is now if you plan on moving him.

I cannot see a scenario where Boozer is on the roster next season, either via trade or amnesty.
I do give the Bulls management for not mailing in the season and tanking when their star went down, like a certain unamed Texas-team did in the late 90's ;)

Yeah I actually thought the Bulls could make the playoffs without Rose. They just have too much defense. I wouldn't be suprised if Boozer is moved in the offseason if they can get something of value.
