Yeo's job in peril

08:19 AM ET 02.08 | It's getting late early in Minnesota, where expectations have given way to a 4-5-1 record. Less than three weeks into the most promising season in franchise history, the Wild played without grit or intelligence in a 4-1 loss to Vancouver, a failure that could alter expectations and shorten tenures surely as it brought jeers raining down on the Xcel Energy Center ice on Thursday night. In hockey, when you've tried everything but firing the coach and your team doesn't respond, you tend to fire the coach. Maybe owner Craig Leipold won't force that move immediately, but he has no reason to be patient after making an immense investment in front-line talent and watching his team fall apart. Whether Mike Yeo is responsible for his team's slump is irrelevant.

trouble in paradise? couldn't happen to a better group of people.

February 8, 2013  09:14 AM ET

oh, and btw, Peter Budaj is probably the worst backup in the league. No goalie controversy here.

Could be. Could be putting your eggs all in one basket?

What? Bloated contracts given to guys in their "walk year" hasn't panned out as planned? I'm shocked. SHOCKED! I tell ya!

Leave my Panthers alone.

Fully admit I didn't see anything other than the tying goal from that game, but man what was he supposed to do there? Why aren't his teammates bowling Sabres over to get that puck out of there? Awful.Anyway, Carey's nice and rested to get shellacked Saturday. Kessel's scoring again. Danger clouds must be forming over the Bell Centre.

Montreal is a WAY different team than they were opening night. Their rookies are incredibly talented. As far as Price, I don't know that I'd expect him to get "shellacked" following a glance at his numbers.

MTL is much improved from that opening night, Danny was just teasing, he knows his leafs won't be getting an easy win from us like that again this season ;)

And while I agree with him that that last goal was not Budaj's fault, I also agree with Foil that Budaj is probably the worst backup. I wouldn't lose any sleep if we got rid of him, and White while we're at it
