03:09 PM ET 02.08 | The University of New Mexico released a statement on Friday, backing football coach Bob Davie. The school received a letter from an anonymous sender that alleged Davie discriminated against some football players on the basis of race. Specifically, the letter alleged that Davie allowed white players to smoke marijuana but not black players, and that he gave out harsher punishments to black players. Athletic director Bob Krebbs said he reviewed the letter and spoke to Davie about it, and concluded that the allegations were false.

When I lived in Abilene my next door neighbor called the police because someone broke into his house and stole his marijuana plants. I was questioned by investigators who were trying their best to keep straight faces.

These accusations are almost as stupid.
