06:15 PM ET 02.08 | Barry Zito, an unsung playoff hero in 2012, would like to remain a San Francisco Giant until he retires. Zito had his best season with the Giants last season, winning 15 games with a 4.15 ERA. He shined in the postseason, going 2-0 in three starts with a 1.69 ERA. However, he will have to either win the Cy Young in 2013 or take a significant pay cut once he hits free agency in 2014. He is currently signed under a highly-scrutinized $126 million contract for seven years that expires after next season. He does have a team option for $18 million that the Giants will definitely decline, but he also has a $7 million buyout that can simply cut him loose.
