Magic Johnson "embarrassed" to have ever been a Laker?

06:55 PM ET 02.08 | Magic Johnson is one of the greatest Lakers to ever have lived, but he's more than a little fed up about the play he's seeing from his former team as of late. The Lakers currently sit in 10th place in the Western Conference and are 3-and-a-half games out of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference Playoffs. That means despite acquiring Dwight Howard and Steve Nash in the offseason and hiring Mike D'Antoni during the season, should the games end today, the Lakers would be two spots out of the playoffs and officially on the outside looking in. But while the Lakers are losing, Magic Johnson is fed up with seeing his team slip so far and last night's loss to rival Boston Celtics, Johnson snapped and basically said he's embarrassed to have ever played for a team that shows such little heart.

Is it me but I never thought Dwight Howard was great ?? Put his game up against the Top 10 Centers ever and he doesnt even come close....Shaq , Wilt , Russel , Hakeem, David Robinson, Ewing, and many more make him look real bad ...I rather have Tyson Chandler any day...Good for Magic, thats where he was going with his comments.

You might want to educate yourself a bit before you pass judgement. He was married in 1991 and announced that he had HIV, not AIDS, the same year. Also, his wife does not have the disease.

Bad analysis by Magic. The Lakers are in the middle of a major transition and have been hit harder by injuries than any other team this year. Road wins are always tough. The Lakers did the best they could with the players they had and with the situation they are in. This is not about lack of effort.
