Miami hires Blake James as athletic director

11:59 AM ET 02.09 | The University of Miami has hired Blake James to be their full-time athletic director. James has spent the past four months serving as the school's acting athletic director, but had the acting tag removed on Friday. He was not scared off by the potential of deep NCAA sanctions against the athletic department, as he's long considered the position at Miami "his dream job." Miami's former athletic director, Shawn Eichorst, left South Florida in October to become the athletic director at Texas Tech.
