09:06 AM ET 02.10 | After imposing a gag order on president David Samson, owner Jeffrey Loria has changed his mind and decided to allow Samson to speak publicly again. And Samson addressed several issues Saturday at the event formerly known as Marlins Fanfest: Samson said owner Jeffrey Loria is "not selling" the team. That assuredly will disappoint a fan who attended Saturday wearing a shirt saying the Marlins "need a new owner." And another who came wearing Blue Jays attire to honor the traded Marlins (Josh Johnson, Mark Buehrle, Jose Reyes). He said tickets sold last year were "drastically" below projections and "that's why the payroll is where the payroll is" -- at around $40 million, lowest in baseball.

All you can say to the good folks who live in the South Beach area is not go to the games and maybe force Loria into selling the team.

So, if the problem was ticket sales, then just how does gutting a team fix that? Open the books, because it is all BS. Revenue sharing, 60/40 home away splits, tv guaranteed money and total tax write offs. Bulll friggggin Sheeeeiiiit.

Addition to my own comment: Jeesh!

" Between 2002 and 2010, the Marlins reportedly received close to $300 million in revenue sharing."

He'll still make his millions in revenue sharing.

QUOTE(#2):

That wouldn't prove to be much of a problem for him, he'd just cut the payroll to 20 million

the owner only cares about his own interest, the fans and the rest of the teams can take a hike as far as loria he would be pleased if all the fans do the walking far away,,,
