10:19 AM ET 02.10 | Beloved Mets catcher Mike Piazza comes out swinging in a new memoir -- confronting rumors about being gay and taking steroids, detailing his romantic home runs and finally settling the score with his hated rival, Roger Clemens. The book, "Long Shot" (Simon & Schuster) comes a month after Piazza, arguably the greatest hitting catcher of all time, fell 98 votes short of being voted into the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. Many think he missed because of persistent rumors he used performance-enhancing drugs during a 16-year career. The 44-year-old makes no bones about holding a grudge against Clemens for beaning him during a July 8, 2000, game, and for the infamous bat-throwing incident later that season against the Yankees during the World Series.

I don't know if any of you guys read the entire article, but this made me chuckle...it was referencing Piazza's planned revenge against Clemens for throwing at his head..and the opportunity that presented itself with the bat throwing incident in the Series:

What the **** is your problem???? Piazza, still holding the handle of the broken bat and walking toward the pitcher???s mound, asked Clemens. But Piazza went no further ??? and never realized his dream of revenge.

???There were complications,??? he recalls. ???The least of them was the realization that Clemens was a big guy, and I stood a pretty fair chance of getting my ass kicked in front of Yankee Stadium and the world. That was a legitimate concern.???

Well they do say discretion is the better part of valor. But ya know what I don't recall any of his team's pitchers retaliating against the Yankees' batters for him. Does anyone else?

I am tired of shoveling snow and after all that shoveling I still can't go anywhere because they have not plowed the two and a half foot of snow off my street. And I got four wheel drive!

To sum up...Piazza takes it up the ass, Clemens and Piazza both injected steroids into their ass, and he thinks Clemens is an ass.

Clemens was and always will be a POS....Clemens beaned Piazza because he couldn't get him out...Piazza owned Clemens (if you don't believe me look it up)....Clemens is a low class piece of garbage.....Mark my words Piazza will be in the HOF....Clemens never......

Well, this pic isn't helping him debunk the rumors, though it didn't say he was going to say he WASN'T gay, just that he was going to confront the rumor.

So you're saying Bench and Berra had relationships with Piazza?

He sure looks like he uses botox.

I know this doesn't have anything to do with anything...but every time I hear "botox" I'm reminded of Tim Allen's bit in the movie "Christmas With The Kranks" where he got a botox injection before going on the cruise and was trying to eat his fruit cup...or whatever it was.
