06:01 PM ET 02.10 | Champ Bailey will not be a salary cap casualty this year, and will be back with the Denver Broncos in 2013. Bailey will make $10.5 million next year, and some thought that he could be cut in order to free up some room under the salary cap. He just finished his ninth season with the Broncos, and 14th overall in the NFL. Bailey finished the 2012 season with 66 tackles and two interceptions, and has 52 interceptions during his career.

With the way he played against Torrey Smith, it might be time to consider retiring.
Or at least giving him some safety help over the top.

He looked very old and overmatched in the playoffs.

10.5 is a lot of money, they should be negotiating with him!

Lot of money for someone who got exposed against the Ravens

Agreed, but they signed the contract. They should have to pay him.

Champ actually played good during the season. I think Broncs realized it wasn't Champ's fault against the Ravens. Broncs were the sack leader coming to the play-offs yet Flacco's jersey was clean like it was brand spanking new after the game. Broncs only registered 1 sack and gave Flacco almost 4-5 seconds time to throw almost every play. Hell, you give a back up QB that much time and he would play lights out. I would blame the D coordinator instead. However, I agree that $10 mil for an aging CB is overpriced. That's good enough to sign another pass rusher(Kruger). A great pass rush would make an average CB look damn good.

Champ should stick around, but start the clock on his retirement. The Broncos need to lower their expectations of Champ, too bad they can't pay him less.

The Problem you have with ageing players is that if they make the playoffs during a long season, it gets extremely difficult to compete against the better teams, that's the issue! For instance only about 5 Quarterbacks have won a Super Bowl after the age of 35. It's a tough Game.
