08:15 AM ET 02.11 | Michigan State senior captain Derrick Nix offered the old "one game at a time" after beating Purdue over the weekend. It was the right thing to say, but Nix -- as well as everyone else wearing green-and-white -- knew what game was on deck. Michigan, 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Breslin Center, ESPN, bragging rights on the line. "We're a pretty humble team," Nix said. ... "We don't get into the rankings." Nix has been consistent on that notion since the start of the season. Still, Michigan's three wins in the past four meetings with Michigan State are surely in the back of his mind. "It's going to be a big game, it's a rivalry game," Nix said, stifling a yawn. "But we just need to come out and play."

Should be a great game in the B1G . . . again.
Michigan needs it more because they're trailing Indiana and MSU by 1 game in the conference but I fully expect MSU to win at home.
Michigan, the youngest team in the B1G, has NOT handled tough venues on the road very well.

I hope you're right. We need to win at home. I'm not a big b'ball fan, but any opportunity to beat Michigan is a good thing.

I agree . . . believe it or not.
I would even go so far to say Indiana and MSU have separated themselves at this point although neither has gone through "the gauntlet" yet (and they will) that Michigan has schedule-wise in the B1G.
Also, IMO Michigan is soft not only on the inside but mentally in stressed situations. Their offense in crunch time seems to be . . . give the ball to Burke and let's just see what happens. Often it ends up in a wild 3 pointer by Burke or another player.
They lost to Wiscy because of this and not being able to keep their heads when they had a chance to pull away. Their poor offensive play "under the gun" kept Wiscy in the game . . . a definite sign of immaturity as well.

The ref's in the 1st half at Wisconsin were definitely brutal. The number of non-calls on obvious fouls were nearing double digits by halftime. Most in Wisconsin's favor.
When Jay Bilas goes on his rant about the contact being allowed in NCAA B-ball he has to be talking about the B1G. It was ridiculous in that 1st half in Madison.

Only 1 comment . . .
McGary will be great. He is not great now but he will be. However, there's only 1 of him. UM needs another.
I think Horford has a chance to be a very good functional big man but who know if he can stay healthy. I've never liked Morgan and think he has reached his peak . . . which isn't saying much. Apparently, per Belein, he covers alot of ground on "D" but ???
Another point, GRII has disappeared in these big games. I think he gets a ++ on the soft side of the scale. Where has he gone? Definitely not aggressive enough right now.

Don't think so.
Michigan plays MSU and Indiana at home to end the year then, of course, there's the B1G tourney.
To much b-ball left to make that kind of statement.
