Penn State working on game in Ireland

Penn State is looking into an overseas road trip to the Emerald Isle, Nittany Lions head coach Bill O'Brien said Saturday night during an appearance at the Hershey Lodge, where he was speaking at a high school football banquet. ... Since the NCAA sanctions were announced last July as a result of the Jerry Sandusky scandal, O'Brien has talked about scheduling attractive travel games as a reward for current and future players. A Penn State game in Ireland is under serious consideration, O'Brien said. "We are definitely looking into playing in Ireland, no question about it," O'Brien said. "We're working on an opponent and we're working with the Big Ten on that."

Was she one of the Colleens entertaining the Irish lads when you guys visited the Emerald Isle last year? If so, no wonder Penn State wants to visit. My guess is, that Penn State is trying to give their players a "near bowl" experience.

It's probably Ireland or nothing. It's getting harder and harder to find a foreign country that can host an American college football game without also hosting a bunch of riots and protests.
