Heat out on Oden?

05:43 PM ET 02.11 | The Miami Heat have reportedly dropped out of the bidding for free agent big man Greg Oden, leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers and Charlotte Bobcats to make offers to the former No. 1 overall pick in the coming weeks. Oden, labeled as a once-in-a-generation player in the past, has seen his NBA career deteriorate in recent years as his knees have failed to withstand the rigors of the game. Still, as a 7-footer with defensive skill and a glimmering pedigree from his college days, teams have been willing to consider taking a chance on Oden staying healthy enough to tap into his potential. Since being drafted in 2007, the 25-year-old has appeared in just 82 NBA games.

smart management makes smart decisions-no reason to waste a roster spot on a guy that is just always hurt

Did Curry ever suite up for them? If not, I wonder if they are a bit gun shy after that very similar situation.

If he was healthy, I think it could've been a good fit. But the "if" at the start of my sentence is probably the biggest "if" the world has ever seen.

If he was healthy he would be dominating right now and would Dwight Howard look like a fool.

The NBA would have been different if the Trailblazers had a healthy team, damn.

The Birdman was a good signing for the Heat, a solid role player who doesn't mind doing the dirty work and not needing to score only benefits a team that already has LBJ, Wade and Bosh.

I don't mind if the Cavaliers take a shot on him.
