"I was talking to coach, and he was telling me just to go out there and play ball," he said when essentially asked to brag about himself. "I don't have to impress him, just play my game. That's what I did." McLemore's gift and curse are both somewhere in those words. He is that rare superstar without ego. ... In a wide-open college basketball season, KU figures to be one of the best 12 or so teams and that's enough to dream big. But nobody in or around this program can imagine a happy ending to this season without McLemore playing more like a star.

Funny thing about not being comfortable with your talents, you defer to the seniors. Kid needs to put on this kind of a show every game. Why not make yourself look like a #1 pick.

So is the kid not playing like a star right now? He is trying to fit in with his team and not alienate himself. We all know his talents are immense but I am starting to see this kid as more than just a ball player, he might be trying to unify this team and make his teammates better. A lost art in college athletics. This could be something that pays off in March when other teams key in on him and he has to become a decoy at times.
