Surprise consideration for Team USA's No. 1 goalie

08:25 AM ET 02.12 | Should the Olympics include NHL players, Team USA officials have reason to pay extra attention to Tuesday's game in Ottawa. At one end, there will be the Senators' Craig Anderson, who has the best goals against average (1.49) and save percentage (.950) of any NHL No. 1 'tender so far this season. At the other end, it's expected the Buffalo Sabres will go with Ryan Miller. ... Miller, Jonathan Quick and Tim Thomas were America's goalies at the 2010 Games. ... The only two other real possibilities are Detroit's Jimmy Howard and Vancouver's Cory Schneider, but if the team was being picked now, it's unlikely either would crack the top 3. In fact, if the Games were being played now, Anderson would have to draw strong consideration to be the USA's No. 1 goalie.

Goalies is the least of our worries. These days we have a lot to chose from.

Let the college kids play IMNSHO

For the last half of last season Quick would have been the easiest choice at number 1. Amazing how badly that has changed.

But really let the kids play. They get excited more than the older players, and have more fun. Now It's like bringing your dad to a snowball fight.

I can't make up my mind. Sometimes I agree with you (like now for example) and an hour later I change my mind. I have all the the core beliefs and stability of a lemming. Yes, I'm ashamed but I see no hope for improvement. Sort of like the Caps. :(

I completely agree. Keep the pros out and let the kids have the spotlight. Most of them will never get another chance for something like this.

I was just kidding about the humility thing. Not trying to be a menace ;)

Jeremy Brett rules as Holmes. No one comes close.
