03:10 PM ET 02.12 | South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney would almost certainly be the number one pick in the 2013 NFL Draft if he came out. However, since he's only a sophomore, he's still a year away from being eligible to play in the pros. Charlotte Observer columnist Tom Sorenson thinks that in order to save himself NFL millions, Clowney should consider sitting out the 2013 season to avoid injury. The record for players who have skipped a year before going into the NFL is not good, so it's probably not in Clowney's best interest to do so. However, it raises an interesting question about what's more important: Playing for his college team right now, or making sure future earning potential remains intact.
