King not worried about Williams' ankles

06:21 PM ET 02.12 | Deron Williams underwent a platelet-rich plasma treatment to help ankle inflammation on Monday, and Brooklyn Nets general manager Billy King ended up defending his franchise point guard, who is having a rough season. Career lows in many statistical categories have put pressure on the Nets after re-signing Williams to a max deal this offseason. Williams has been hampered by his ankle injuries and fatigue. He's hardly rested during the past few offseasons, and following the ankle procedure, King was backing Williams while fielding questions about everything down to the point guard's supposed weight gain. "You're digging. You???re digging. And you're asking valid questions, but (the inflammation to Williams' ankles) is not a concern," King told the New York Daily News. "Let's let him get through this, have a week off and get back to playing basketball. Let's not put the dirt on him and say his career's over at 28.
