Delusions of being a 25 year old again? what does he expect? I don't think I see him in Edmonton at the end of it all anyways.

Good for the Coach ! Now if only Hartly in Calgary would do the same. Iginla has been horrible- stop rolling him out with the top line. Smyth has been playing on the third line and thats where Iginla should be playing. Coaches who feel they must be loyal to aging veterans quickly find out how little loyalty the GM has for them

Unless you're referring to Smyth. Smyth knew going into the season he would miss games. It's better for him overall, really. His body probably couldn't handle 48 games in 3 months.

Maybe getting confused with Ray Whitney? anyways... Smyth was over the hill when he came back... now in this sprint, he's likely to fall apart.

He's only 29. D-men are usually at their peak at that age. But Whitney doesn't look like he cares all that much right now. He's out of shape, slow, clumsy and thinks that checking somebody is a cardinal sin, which is strange for a guy in the last year of his contract.

He appears not to have recovered from his ankle injury. He looks a step behind when the other Team comes in fast.

and... Smyth earned his spot on the bench after that dumb penalty in the Wings game...he looked like an idiot...and he got a 10 minute miscon on top of it. I know..he's getting older but you can't just put your team down like that for unsportsmanlike when you're struggling anyway

Yeah, Ryan started out with Pittsburgh and they traded him in 2009 for Kunitz and Tangradi. I think Shero got the better of that deal.
