[On Tuesday, Vick said] his recent injury problems came from "trying to protect myself," so he plans to be less cautious as a quarterback. "I think what I have to do is just go out and play lights-out football and not worry about getting hurt," he said on ESPN radio's Mike & Mike in the Morning, aired locally on 97.5 The Fanatic. He also said he hopes to play for another four or five years. The Eagles announced Monday that Vick had agreed to a new deal, allowing him to compete for the starting quarterback job and potentially earn as much as $10 million over the next year.

Agreed...

It is simple math...

Atlanta + big contract = lousy play worthy of that deal

Lousy play + dog fighting = jail

Jail + back to NFL to play again = good play

Good Play + another big contract = lousy play.

Vick will get nothing done for Philly fans this season under Kelly...

Vick being the Eagles starting QB is not a foregone conclusion. If he shows he can't master the reads in mini camps, he might not even make it to training camp. I'll bet that Kelly knows his honeymoon in Philly won't last past week 3, so he'll look for the best guy for the job. Unfortunately for the Eagles, the best guy currently on the roster suited to Kelly's offense is Vick. Foles doesn't have the mobility Kelly's offense requires from the QB.

This has got to be his last shot. mind as well go down doing what he's good at. Maybe he gets lucky and avoids injury scrambling around and making things happen. Probably not, but maybe. Reid failed in his attempt to make him a pocket passer so he's got nothing to lose, career wise anyways

Thanks and you are right...Vick is suited best, Foles is still a massive ? mark.

Will be interesting to see if Kelly's style works in the NFL.
