Blackhawks may sign Handzus

Landing Jonathan Toews and having the first selection in this summer's draft may prompt a resolution to negotiations with center Michael Handzus, who was injured early last season and is an unrestricted free agent. Toews should be slotted as the No. 2 center, which means the Hawks will have to re-sign Handzus or go for someone else in the free-agent market or move Tuomo Ruutu from wing back to center.

They should sign Handzus. He would really help them if he could just stay healthy. Because he could fill the no.1 center slot and he mentor Toews and whoever they draft.

Handzus was the stick that stirred the pot when healthy last year.
Not signing him would be yet ANOTHER dimmed bright spot for the Hawks Fans. Not that Tallon doesn't want the hulking center ,but I'm sure it's hard to get things done when your hands are connected to puppet strings.
