08:08 AM ET 02.13 | Credit Frank Francisco for his candor. [Francisco] will have to wait until some inflammation dissipates from his elbow before he can defend his assertion that he should be the Mets' closer this season. And until Francisco's return Bobby Parnell will have control of the ninth-inning duties, Manager Terry Collins said Tuesday afternoon. ... Francisco underwent a procedure in December to remove bone chips from his elbow. He said he would wait for the swelling to go down before beginning to throw along with his teammates. Francisco was asked how close to 100 percent he felt. "I'm at zero right now," he said, smiling. "I'm at level zero." After a shaky 2012 season, there have been questions about how strong a hold Francisco has on the closer role.
