Ovechkin getting it right after position shakeup

[Ovechkin has five goals in 13 games], but there are signs that the Washington Capitals' winger is growing into the changes he's been asked to make to his game. Ovechkin is beginning to take advantage of the different offensive possibilities that come from playing on the right wing rather than the left. He's taking more shots on goal, finding more open space and working better with his linemates to generate quality chances. ... [Said new teammate Mike Ribeiro:] "I think on the left side, teams just took him away a lot of times through the years. He needs to adjust and give teams different looks."

Ovechkin had been boiled down to a few plays on the left wing, and with all of them scouted a move to the right wing might help find the spark he's not had in quite a while, and the shake-up will more than likely pay dividends sooner or later.
Better be quick though Alexander.... 1/4 of the season is already gone and the Caps are languishing in last in the SE division, and my 'Canes work a good road run, although, 2 games in Philly on the same trip was a bit much.

With no Reimer? Keep Dreaming mate... Scrivens won't hold up, not in my view anyways. Although the lads might be tored from the road swing, I still see a win.

Alex is pretty stubborn to put it mildly. Teams have been defending him pretty effectively for the last three years with his entirely predictable moves on the left wing. While Ovie is a fantastically talented guy, everybody else in the league is not stupid and they can, and did, come up with effective defensive plans. Be interesting to see if he does make the adjustments required this year. He's shown a few flashes this year of the old Ovie. Not many, but a few.

Yes, you were thinking along the same lines as I was, with the move, will opponents adjust?
So far, he's not really woken up yet (maybe still suffering a little Jetlag), and as you say a few flashes here and there, but as I said, it should pay dividends.
